Liotine Earns Full Scholarship

Liotine closed the year with 203 yards and a TD vs. Albany
After three seasons with the Stony Brook University football team, two of which ending prematurely due to pre-season shoulder injuries, Don Liotine ’13 was offered a full scholarship by head coach Chuck Priore on Friday.
Liotine earned his way onto the team as a walk-on three years ago, beginning his journey as a Seawolf on the special teams unit. He then earned a shot at running back and climbed his way onto the depth chart prior to this season. Then, after season-ending injuries to the squad’s top two backs, he more than filled a void with three consecutive 100-yard rushing performances, including totals of 204 and 203 yards that each earned him CAA Rookie of the Week honors. He finished the season with 5 touchdowns and 708 yards on the ground as the team’s leading rusher. His consistency out of the backfield helped lead the Seawolves to a three-game winning streak to close the season.
