
Yesterday, Rod Odom ’09 poured in a team-high 24 points to lead Virtus Bologna to an upset victory over Banco di Sardegna Sassari. Bologna was the 16th-ranked team in Italy’s Serie A heading into the game while Banco di Sardegna was slotted in the top four.
Bologna trailed for much of the game and went into the fourth quarter behind 58-65. They clawed back and Odom tied the game at 67-67 midway through the quarter. By the end of regulation the teams were knotted at 76-76.
In the extra period, Odom has several key buckets to lead Bologna to a huge 92-87 upset victory. The former Bear was 8-13 from the field and had a team-high 6 rebounds in 39 minutes.
