The girls show off their Regional Championship plaque

On this day six years ago, the girls’ soccer team earned just the fourth State Final Four berth in school history with a 3-0 victory over S. S. Seward in the Regional Championship.

The Bears’ staunch defense, that would yield just three goals over five playoff games, continued against the Spartans as Danielle Pappas, Briana Stiklickas, Kierran Petersen, and Lisa Harbes helped record one of three playoff shutouts. The offense did their part as well, scoring three times behind the play of Michelle Hennessy (1G/2A), Donna Liotine (1G), Kelsey Wentling (1G), and Stiklickas (1A).

The Bears would win their next two games over Seton Catholic (1-0) and Sauquoit Valley (2-1) to earn the first State Championship in school history.
