The '55 Blue and White
The ’55 Blue and White

On this day 60 years ago, the football team staved off a late rally to top Adelphi, 28-20, in the season’s final game.

The Blue and White jumped out of the gate with a 21-point opening quarter that carried them to the halftime break with a 21-6 edge. The Brook scored the lone touchdown of the third quarter to enter the final period with a comfortable 28-6 lead.

Adelphi refused to bow quietly, scoring a pair of touchdowns in the frame, including a 95-yarder, to cut the Brooker lead to 28-20. But it was as close as they would get as our boys took the win.

Robert Darroch scored twice, while James Boice and Ron Hart added touchdowns of their own. Three of the conversions were scored by Frank Visted and Boice added the fourth.
