On this day 60 years ago, the cross country team topped Riverhead, the eventual Class A Suffolk County Champion, by 15 points.

The win gave the Blue and White its fifth undefeated season in the previous ten years as they closed with a 6-0 record, including a win over the Class B Suffolk County Champion, Bayport, by 15 points. They went on to win the first of fifteen consecutive Ivy League Championships as Dick Sprague, Larry Goodman, and Carl Krupp led the Brook to victory on a soggy Van Cortlandt Park course.
