Last night the boys’ soccer team qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2010 in a 7-0 thrashing under the lights at Greenport.
It was a decidedly different affair than the 4-3 comeback victory the Bears earned against the Porters on October 1, in which Alvaro Martinez Torres scored with eight seconds left to steal a victory for the Brook. This was the Bears’ fifth straight victory since beginning the season 0-3 and with two games left in the regular season they’ve already punched their playoff ticket.
Khendrick Beausoleil led the way with a hat trick and Haban Weon, Gabriel Vazquez Abreu, Caleb Rudzitis, and Martinez Torres each added a score to complete the romp. This is the third time the Bears’ potent offense has scored at least six goal in a game, including 10-0 and 6-0 victories over Port Jefferson.
The Bears will next face rival Pierson on Senior Day on Monday.
