On this day three years ago, Karina Scavo ’09 scored two goals in Gordon College’s 3-2 win over Roger Williams University.

The senior captain helped the Fighting Scots improve to 12-2 with two goals just 42 seconds apart to turn a 1-1 tie into a 3-1 lead. Scavo’s first goal came when she took a through ball from her teammate and scored on an open net in the 68th minute. Less than a minute later Scavo struck again when she netted a free kick from outside the box.

The Hawks would score a goal late to halve their deficit, but couldn’t overcome Scavo’s hot streak.
