On this day 18 years ago, Caitlin Banks netted a school record 12 goals in a 22-14 win over Comsewogue.

The freshman helped the Bears build a 10-8 halftime edge, then continued her scoring barrage as the Brook buried the Warriors behind 12 second half goals. Laura Louison added 5 goals and Tracy Searle made 18 stops in goal for the blue and white.

After Stony Brook, Banks attended the University of Virginia where she garnered ACC Rookie of the Year honors in 2001 and a National Championship in 2004. Her name continues to dot the Cavalier record book.
