For the better part of the last 25 years, Thom Brownworth has been the statistician for the boys’ basketball program. For years his position on the bench, perched over a tape recorder, has been a mainstay of Stony Brook Basketball and His detailed analysis of individual and team performance a vital part of the program’s success. The crown jewel of the operation is his homemade rating system which he derives from the formula you’ll find at the bottom of the score sheet.
A great head coach in his own right, Mr. Brownworth won 92 games and two League Championships during his 15-year tenure before taking the assistant role.
