Hollis 7th at Winston-Salem St. Open

Matt Hollis ’14 moved up four spots on the final day of the Winston-Salem State Open to finish 7th in the heptathlon with 4,107 points.

Hollis was in 11th place after Sunday, taking 10th in the 60 meters (7.65), 11th in the long jump (18′ 10.75:), 9th in the shot put (33′ 1″), and 8th in the high jump (5′ 9.25″). Today he closed with strong performances in the 60 meter hurdles (10th/9.76), pole vault (4th/12′ 7.5′), and 1000 meter run (4th/3:00.29) to push into the top ten.

Hollis and the Panthers next take the track in the UNC-Greensboro Spartan Team Challenge on January 25.
