The ’64 football team

On this day 50 years ago, the football team topped their old rival, Horace Mann, thanks to a balanced scoring attack.

The Brook drew first blood when Gary Rice found Ron Kuhrt for a 72-yard score. The boys added another touchdown in the second quarter when Kent Picken scampered 55 yards to give the Blue and White a 12-6 halftime lead.

In the third, they put the game out of reach when Rice reared back again, this time finding Peter Halsey for a 32-yard strike. Picken muscled his way over the line to punctuate the drive, giving the Brook a 19-6 win.
