The Adelphi University women’s soccer team lives to see another day, thanks in large part to the play of senior captain Donna Liotine ’11. Liotine, named ECAC Defender of the Week on Tuesday, provided an offensive spark tonight, scoring her fifth goal of the season in the 66th minute to break a scoreless tie.
Less than seven minutes later the Panthers pushed the lead to 2-0 and, though Pace University would halve the lead with twelve minutes remaining, Liotine and the defense would ensure it was all the offense they would need.
With the win, the top-seeded Panthers move on to tomorrow’s ECAC Championship game against Southern Connecticut State University.

It was always a joy to watch Donna play at SBS. She demonstrated what it means to “leave it all in the field”.
