On this day 28 years ago, the boys’ cross country team won the County Championship for their first of three consecutive Suffolk crowns.

Southold/Greenport/Shelter Island took the top spot and Hampton Bays claimed second and third, but the Brook showed its depth as Marc Conti grabbed 4th place in 17:31, followed by teammates Andrew Rowsom (6th/17:42), and Ben Moss (8th/17:46). Earle Capel, Kyle Eddy, Arun Seraphin, and Peter Hurtado rounded out a strong performance of which coach Robin Lingle ’60 had to have been proud.
