In last night’s game vs. Elmhurst College, Wes Woodley ’11 earned his third 1-0 shutout of the season for the North Park University men’s soccer team.
After the Vikings took a 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute, Woodley ensured the lead would stand up, making seven saves, including two right on the doorstep. It was a huge victory for North Park, allowing them to stay in contention for their first regular season CCIW title since 2006. The outright champion will be decided this Saturday when Wheaton College travels to North Park with the top seed in the CCIW Tournament on the line.
It was Woodley’s seventh shutout of the season, placing him just one behind the conference leader. He is also currently fourth in goals against average (1.162), sixth in save percentage (.758), third in saves (72), and fifth in saves per game (3.60).
