On this day 47 years ago, the cross country team ran in the New York University Invitational in the morning, and still had enough energy to sweep Hackley that afternoon. In the NYU Invite, the harriers finished 23rd out of 40, in a field mostly comprised of college teams, then dominated Hackley to round out a productive day.

"Double, double, toil, and trouble," sang the Weird Sisters to Macbeth. Double, double, toil, and trouble as Doug Etherington, Alan Swanson, Bob Barclay, Tom Constant, John LuValle, and Joe Iatauro ran the NYU Invitational race in the morning, then the dual meet against Hackley in the afternoon. To these iron men, the victory over Hackley by a perfect score, 15-50, made the day complete.
