On This Day In History | 1935

April 15, 2011

The 1935 Blue and White

On this day 76 years ago the baseball team defeated Setauket High School 8-1 in their season opener.  The Blue and White wasted little time getting on the board, scoring 2 runs in each of the first 2 innings with Everett Welch providing the offense in the 2nd frame with a 2-run home run.  The offense was well balanced as Grant Johnson finished the game with 2 triples while Aertsen Keasbey clouted 2 doubles.  The most impressive part of the Brook’s win happened on the base paths as the boys stole an incredible 16 bases, with John Dill swiping 4 on his own.
