Brannon Burke, after a fantastic season in which she led our girls’ basketball team to a third straight Long Island Championship, was named 2nd team All-State by the New York State Sportswriters Association this week. Burke’s list of accomplishments this season included:
- Scoring her 1,000th career point vs. Southold
- Hitting five 3-pointers vs. Shelter Island, tied for the third-highest single game total in Suffolk County
- Scoring 35 points vs. Port Jeff, the third-highest single game total in Suffolk County
- Averaging 17.3 points per game–14th on Long Island & 7th in Suffolk
Brannon gave a big defensive effort to the soccer squad this past fall and continued to play with pain to contribute a huge offensive assault for the basketball team. Congrats to her on the All-State selection.
