Winter has given way to spring, even if the weather belies that fact, and our runners have moved from indoor arenas back to the Marvin W. Goldberg track. The indoor season has closed but not without a number of accomplishments for two of our school’s brightest stars as Khoren Lawson and Taylor Colucci were named to the Class C All-State team after fantastic winter campaigns.
Only eight athletes state-wide were selected All-State in each event, and the tandem each achieved the honor for the 55 meter dash. Lawson’s 6.58 was the best in the state among Class C sprinters, narrowly beating out Colucci’s 6.60, the #2 time in the class. Additionally, Lawson made the All-State squad after a 44′ 3″ school record-smashing triple jump that bested the #2 distance in Class C by 7.5″.
