Kristyn Dunleavy ’07 and the Amherst College women’s basketball team made program history yesterday evening as they defeated Washington University (St. Louis) 64-55 to win the 2011 Division III NCAA Championship. The Lord Jeffs exorcised some demons in the process as they vanquished a team that last season snapped their 31-game winning streak, ousting them in the national semifinals.
Dunleavy is not Stony Brook’s only collegiate National Champion as she joins fellow alums:
