On this day 50 years ago, the wrestling squad completed an undefeated dual meet season with a 25-14 victory over Riverdale. The win over their rivals from the Bronx gave the Brook the Ivy League Championship for the first of three straight years.

The Brook quickly took a 9-0 lead behind wins from Warren Hannas (4-1), Dick Kuo (5-0), and Ron Race (5-2). After the Blue and White dropped the 130-pound match, Jack Leax pinned his man in 5:17 to give the boys a 14-3 lead. Louis Szabados followed with a pin in the 141-pound class to build a 19-3 advantage from which their opponents would not recover. Jeff Sawyer won in the 157-pound match and Read McLean in the unlimited weight class to provide the final points.
