The girls’ basketball team rejoined the New York State Sportswriters Association rankings this afternoon for the first time since their stint at #3 in early January. After defeating the #8 ranked Pierson/Bridgehampton Whalers yesterday, 40-28, the Bears were slotted at #13 on the latest poll while Pierson/Bridgehampton dropped from the list. The Bears are one of just 14 Long Island teams, and one of six from Suffolk County, to be ranked in the 115 available spots spanning all five classes.
