On This Day In History | 2007

January 30, 2011

Mitch Singer and the Bears were highlighted in Newsday

On this day 4 years ago the boys basketball team pummeled Bridgehampton at their infamously miniature gymnasium, 75-43, to improve to 8-1 in League VIII.  The game was close early as the Killer Bees led 9-7, but an offensive rebound and score by Peter Carmel set off an incredible 34-4 run.  The blue and white scoring barrage, coupled with 12 consecutive missed shots by Bridgehampton to begin the 2nd frame, helped decide the outcome long before the game was over.  It was the most lopsided home loss for Bridgehampton’s Carl Johnson in his 16 years of coaching.  Carmel finished with a game high 21 points and 15 rebounds.  Mitch Singer added 15 in his 1st victory at our east end rival.
