1964 | Randall (left) and Ogden tie for 1st in the St. John’s Invite

On this day 46 years ago, Stony Brook Hall of Famers Peter Randall and Glenn Ogden concluded fantastic careers in the Dudley Hare Memorial, hosted by Ossining High School, the #1 ranked team in the nation. Randall won the race for the second year in a row, besting the course record and Ossining’s John Lengers who had defeated him in the season’s first meet. Ogden came in on Randall’s heels, finishing in second place.

Stony Brook was close to the team victory, but fell just short of Ossining’s balanced scoring. A small consolation for the boys was finishing in front of Port Jefferson who did not show up for a head-to-head match-up earlier in the season.
