The girls’ soccer team concluded a fantastic 10-2 (11-3) regular season this afternoon with a 6-0 drubbing of the Ross School. Perhaps using the boys team’s cautionary tale as motivation, the 4th-ranked Class C team in New York State did not take the Ravens lightly, despite beating them 7-1 just weeks ago.
Michelle Hennessy continued her torrid senior season with 4 goals (two in each half) and 2 assists while Donna Liotine continued her hot shooting with 2 goals. Rachel King chipped in with 2 assists and Kierran Petersen and Daija Rubino each added one assist. The Bears’ next matchup will come against Port Jeff on Friday 11/5 @ 3:00pm in the Suffolk County Class C Championship at Diamond in the Pines.
Michele Hennessy scored two goals in the first and two in the second, bringing her total this season to 21, to lead Stony Brook. Goalkeeper Danielle Pappas made three saves for her sixth shutout of the season.~ Newsday
