The current New York State Class C boys’ soccer rankings include two League VIII opponents, both of whom the Bears have defeated this season; however, Stony Brook is glaringly absent from the list. On October 8, the Brook defeated Port Jeff, currently #9 on the list, by a 3-0 margin. On September 22, the boys defeated #15 Southold, 2-1, on their home turf.

While the Brook has not garnered the recognition they deserve, what really matters is where the teams fall when the season’s most important matches have been played.
