On this day 15 years ago, in a League VI matchup with Middle Country, the girls’ tennis team prevailed, 4-3. All-League player Michelle McIvor got the scoring started for the Brook, winning a thrilling match, 7-5, 6-7 (3-7), 7-5. Fellow All-League player Michelle Fang won the 2nd singles match, 6-4, 6-3, and Crickett Polis gave the Bears a commanding 3-1 lead in the 4th singles spot, winning 6-4, 6-2. The 1st doubles team of Lisa Hughey and Amie Hanes dropped the first set 5-7, but won the next two, 6-2, 6-2, to give the Bears the win. It was the second of eleven wins that season, which tied the school record set in 1985.

  3. Andrea Clark & Daria Washington: 6-2, 5-7, 3-6
