On Wednesday afternoon, members of the boys’ and girls’ track & field teams competed in the NYSAIS Championships at Icahn Stadium on Randall’s Island.
Senior Duncan Kipkoech capped a memorable two-year career for the Bears with a 3rd place finish in the 3200 in a time of 9:59.06. It was the fourth time this season that the PSAA Regular Season MVP ran a sub-10 time in the event, the last Bear to accomplish that feat in at least the last two decades. He also ran to a 7th place finish in the 1600 (4:41.98) and an 8th place finish in the 800 (2:06.69) despite competing in temperatures that hit the low 80s.
