Since the Bears joined the PSAA in 2019, our badminton players have been the undisputed kings and queens of the league. The Blue & White has yet to drop a league match, including the postseason, and yesterday’s win clinched a fourth straight undefeated regular season championship, not including the 2020 and 2021 seasons lost to COVID.

The Bears closed the regular season with an 8-0 win at Portledge. Jihoon Park (21-1, 21-10), Kien Nguyen (21-11, 21-5), and Rania Lajmi (21-1, 21-2) won singles matches while Aidan Riley and Andrew Wong (21-11, 21-10), Daniel Kim and Timur Azaz (21-10, 21-3), Catherine Wang and Hanna Shi (21-19, 21-10), Irene Qin and Sarah Lee (21-5, 21-12), and Daniel Wong and Emily Yao (21-8, 21-5) capped the win at doubles.

The Bears move on to the PSAA Tournament, where they again own the top seed. Both the semifinals and finals will be held on May 16 at the Long Island Badminton Center.
