On Wednesday afternoon, the baseball team took on NYSAIS foe Columbia Prep in New York City.

The Bears jumped on the Lions early, scoring two runs in the top of the 1st on a pair of errors, then hung six in the second frame to build an early 8-0 lead. In the 2nd, an Aiden Ruiz sacrifice fly (1), Jordan Serrano home run (3), Anthony DeCesare single (1), and Juju Martinez ground out (1) provided the six runs for The Brook.

A Serrano double in the 3rd scored Ruiz (single) before the Bears scored three more runs in the 5th on bases-loaded walks from Larry Hotaling III and Aaron Artsen and a DeCesare sacrifice fly.

On the mound, Chris Nell and Shea Corona combined for a dominant outing. Nell allowed 0 hits and 0 walks while striking out 5 in 2.0 innings. Corona allowed just 1 hit and struck out 4 in 3.0 innings to complete the shutout.
