
On Monday afternoon, the swim teams traveled to New York City for a quad meet with Horace Mann, Dwight, and the French-American School of New York, hosted by Horace Mann. The Bears were dominant as both teams engineered 3-0 sweeps of the competition.
The girls earned five individual victories thanks to a pair of wins from Naomi Crane (50 free/25.95 & 100 free/57.51) and first place finishes from Victoria Mackay (200 free/2:07.12), Amelia Griffin (100 backstroke/1:06.49), and Kaitlyn Tse (100 breaststroke/1:08.61). The Bears also won all three relays as Griffin, Tse, Genevieve Rochlin, and Crane won the 200 medley in 1:58.31 and the 200 free in 1:47.64. Griffin then paired up with Mackay, Brooke Shteierman, and Tiwa Ojutiku to take the 400 free in 4:09.04. The Bears also earned five runner-up finishes and a pair of third-place marks as they cruised to wins over Horace Mann (97-66), Dwight (112-47), and French-American (111-29).
The boys had four individual wins as Gavin Paton (50 free/22.76 & 100 free/53.48) won a pair alongside Christian Duryea-Kelly (500 free/5:49.79) and Hugo MacDonald (100 breaststroke/1:10.33). They added a relay victory in the 200 free. The Bears also earned six runner-up finishes and seven third-place marks to earn crucial points in their wins over Horace Mann (89-81), Dwight (129-35), and French-American (128-9).
The Bears are back in the water on Saturday in a match-up with Poly Prep at the Brooklyn Sports Club.
