Yesterday afternoon, the boys’ and girls’ swim teams traveled to the Bronx for match-ups with Fieldston and returned to campus with a pair of victories.
The girls topped the Eagles, 95-68, behind six individual wins and two relay victories. Victoria Mackay (200 free/2:09.34 & 500 free/5:45.20) and Naomi Crane (100 butterfly/1:04.83 & 100 free/59.68) were double winners for the Bears. Scarlett Wigington (200 IM/2:25.30) and Amy Wu (100 breaststroke/1:26.02) also took top honors for The Brook.
In the relays, Tiwa Ojutiku, Amelia Griffin, Genevieve Rochlin, and Wigington took the 200 medley in 1:36.13, while Griffin, Wu, Mackay, and Crane joined forces to win the 200 free in 1:49.59.
The boys also turned in a solid 97-72 win thanks to five individual wins and two relay victories. Gavin Paton (50 free/22.71 & 100 free/54.18), Sam Specht (200 IM/2:14.54), Hugo MacDonald (100 butterfly/1:01.05), and Will Tao (100 backstroke/1:10.01) touched the wall in first for the Bears.
In the relays, James Wigington, Specht, MacDonald, and Paton won the 200 medley in 1:49.77, and MacDonald, Specht, Sebastian Guadalupe-Pena, and Paton took the 400 free in 3:41.70.
The teams are back in the water next Thursday in a home match-up with Riverdale.
