On Saturday, the sail team won their second league championship of the fall season, taking the NYISA-SE Fall Fleet Championship in dominant fashion.
One week earlier, the Bears cruised to the NYISA-SE Team Race Championship, and continued to prove they are the fiercest crew plying the waters off of New York by finishing first in each of the 10 races in Port Jeff Harbor over the weekend.
Gavin Hudson (races 1-5), Mairead Reitzel (1-4), and Dora Qian (5) powered the Division A boat to a perfect 5-0 record. That feat was duplicated by the Division B squad of Mauro Gonzalez (1-5), Joshua Henson (1-2), and Mairead Reitzel (3-5), giving the Bears 10 total points to top Mamaroneck (26), St. John the Baptist (28), Rye (37), and Bay Shore (49).
The Bears are back in action this weekend in the MASSA Gold Fleet Championship in Virginia, hosted by Old Dominion University.
