Carina Cristobal ’23 is less than two months into her college tennis career, but she is already making an impact for Colgate University. The freshman won her collegiate debut and three total matches at the Lehigh Invitational two weeks ago, then won a pair of matches with doubles partner Amelia Galin to make the quarterfinals of last weekend’s Army Invitational. This past weekend, the duo earned their first major milestone together, finishing first in doubles play on the J.W. Abrahamson home courts in the Colgate Invitational.

Here is the recap from Colgate’s press release:

Galin and Cristobal's warpath through the doubles bracket began with a 7-5 victory against Siena's Emma Boggiali/Manuela Gomez. They continued with a win against the Saints' top duo, defeating Alexa Wilson/Laia Giralt, 7-5, to earn a spot in the championship match. They faced another combination of Siena players in the championship, but the Raiders downed the visitors, 6-2, to be crowned winner of the doubles flight.

Cristobal also earned a Flight A singles victory against Hamilton. She returns to the court this weekend at the ITA Regionals hosted by Harvard University.
