Yesterday afternoon, the girls’ tennis team battled Long Island Lutheran, and waning daylight, in a 5-0 sweep of their western rivals.
Carina Cristobal continued her first singles dominance with an 8-0 win, Juliana Arrieta won third singles, 8-5, and Caroline Helmer made her Senior Day a little sweeter with an 8-1 win at second singles. Isabel Guo and Ali Cristobal (8-0) and Vida Sandberg and Meghan Creighton (8-0) dominated at doubles.
The victory gave the Bears at least a share of their fourth consecutive PSAA regular season championship and improved their PSAA mark to 17-0 since joining the league in 2018. The Bears can clinch a fourth straight undefeated season and the top seed in the PSAA Tournament with a win at Portledge a week from Friday.
