Bears Lead Way at Portledge Meet

On Thursday afternoon, the boys’ cross country team won the second PSAA meet of the season with an impressive performance at Portledge.

Zack Xu took 2nd overall in a time of 15:57. Forest Kaplan-Walbrecht (3rd/15:57), Joe Barisic Cubillas (4th/15:59), Marc Nichitiu (7th/16:24), and Theo Greenfield (10th/18:00) rounded out the scorers for the Brook as they racked up 25 points to defeat Portledge (49), Solomon Schechter (65), and Long Island Lutheran (101). In a dominant show of force, the Bears placed 19 runners ahead of Portledge’s fourth man.

The Brook is back in action on Saturday in the Suffolk Officials Invitational at Sunken Meadow.
