On this day 38 years ago, the girls’ track team clinched its first of six League Championships.
The Shrikes, led by All-American cross country runner, Laura Whitney, ran through League VII competition with a 5-0-1 record. The team would add League titles in 1985, 1987, 1993, 1994, and 2000.
