On this day 13 years ago, Tim McIvor won the Division III Singles Championship with a dominant 6-2, 6-0 victory over the second-seeded Adam Heckler of Ward Melville.

McIvor earned a berth in the finals after a 6-1, 6-1 quarterfinal victory over Middle Country’s Justin Russo and a 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 semifinal win over Andrew Laux of Mt Sinai.
