On this day 19 years ago, the girls’ basketball team clinched a share of their third straight League VIII Championship in a dominant 74-25 win over Port Jeff.
The Bears burst out of the gates with a 22-0 first quarter, powered by 12 of Rebecca Fischer’s game-high 27 points. The senior was 12-of-15 from the field in leading the 11-1 Bears to a tie for the title with Eastport. Michelle Spurlock scored 11 points and Sara Kiernan added 9.
The Bears would go on to win the program’s first County Championship two weeks later.

Ahh, the things we remember most about our teenaged years. I remember my band days in junior high and high school. Congrats on the title 19 years ago.
