On this day 26 years ago, Jordan Nixon ’88 earned an All-American nod on the merits of his sensational senior football season for Augustana College.

The former Brooker led Division III in average punt return yardage (17.5) during the 1991 season. He was also the Vikings’ leading receiver in helping them to an 8-1 record and a CCIW Conference Championship. His sliding touchdown reception with just 47 seconds left in the championship game gave Augustana the 38-35 win over Illinois Wesleyan.

Nixon was later inducted into Augustana’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
