
This evening, in the first round of the Portledge Tip-Off Tournament, the girls’ basketball team topped Manhattan’s Loyola School, 50-25, behind Beth Felix’s 24 points.
The Bears jumped on the Knights with a 25-5 opening frame and never looked back in a dominant victory that leveled their overall record at 2-2 on the season. Felix led the way, nearly matching Loyola’s point total by herself. She added 7 steals, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds. Wura Obasanjo (8 pts/ 9 rebs), Sam Petersen (7 pts/ 4 rebs), Danielle Graves (5 pts/ 8 rebs), Liz Robbins (4 pts/ 2 rebs), and Niamh Scanlon (2 pts) rounded out a balanced scoring attack.
The Bears are back in action on Saturday morning vs. Portledge in the tournament final.
