
On Saturday afternoon, the Rutgers University football team earned their third Big Ten victory of the season in a 31-24 comeback win over Maryland.
Jerome Washington ’12 led all Rutgers receivers with 57 yards on 3 receptions, including a 35-yard strike that set up Rutgers’ first score with 12:37 remaining in the second quarter. The Scarlet Knights built a 17-7 lead, but Maryland stormed back to grab a 24-17 edge with 4:29 remaining in the third quarter. Rutgers showed their resilience by scoring two touchdowns in the fourth to withstand the Terrapins and level their Big Ten record at 3-3, moving a step closer to bowl eligibility.
Rutgers is back in action on Saturday as they travel to Happy Valley to take on the dynamic Saquon Barkley and the #16 Penn State Nittany Lions.
