Liotine celebrates his rushing TD this evening

This evening, the Stony Brook University football team improved to 4-1 on the season and 3-0 in conference play with a 21-18 victory at William & Mary. The victory was the Seawolves’ first over the Tribe.

Stacey Bedell got the scoring started for the Brook on a 10-yard run with three minutes left in the first quarter. Liotine put the Seawolves up two scores after a nine-yard run with 40 seconds remaining in the half, the ninth rushing touchdown of his career. Then, with 8:16 left in the third quarter, Liotine broke the game open with the first receiving touchdown of his career, a 61-yard reception courtesy of Joe Carbone, that put the Brook up 21-0. It was also Stony Brook’s longest pass play since 2014. The Tribe would not go down without a fight as they scored the next 18 points, but the Seawolves’ defense held on for the win.

Liotine was Stony Brook’s leading receiver with 2 receptions for 74 yards. He added 42 yards on the ground on 11 carries for 116 total yards.

Liotine and the Seawolves are back in action next Saturday at home vs. Delaware.
