On Monday afternoon, the girls’ soccer team earned their 12th straight Holy War victory in a 5-2 win at Smithtown Christian. A year ago, the Bears topped the Knights twice during the regular season by a one-goal margin, but on Monday the offense was in high gear as they scored five times on the current Long Island saves leader.

The Bears had a 2-1 edge at halftime, but outscored Smithtown 3-1 in the second half of the dominant win.

Leka Lee-Maeba scored her team-leading 8th goal of the season to get the Bears on the board first. Beth Felix notched two goals, Rebekah Herts scored her first of the year, deflecting in an 18-yard blast from Felix, and Jessica Nwachukwu found the net off of a direct kick.

The Bears are back in action this afternoon in a match-up at Port Jeff, the two time-defending State Champions.
