On Saturday, the Tufts University women’s cross country team opened the season with a victory at the Bates Invitational. Senior Margot Rashba ’14 finished in 11th place out of 75 runners in a time of 19:17 to help the Jumbos claim the title on the 3.11-mile course.
Tufts nabbed seven of the first 12 spots to finish with 114 points. Bates (168), Worcester Polytechnic Institute (231), and Wellesley (358) rounded out the team scoring.
Rashba and the Jumbos return to action on Saturday at the Purple Valley Classic.
