This afternoon, the Rutgers University football team earned their first win of the season in a 65-0 drubbing of Morgan State.

The game remained close through the first quarter with the Scarlet Knights holding a 7-0 lead, when Jerome Washington ’12 scored his first Division I touchdown on an in-and-out move, reeling in a difficult nine-yard pass on the left sideline of the end zone. The score gave Rutgers a 14-0 lead with 11:09 left in the half and opened the floodgates in what became a 27-point quarter for the hosts. The former Bear finished with a team-leading 3 receptions for 18 yards.

Washington and the Scarlet Knights return to the field next Saturday as they open Big Ten Conference play with a match-up at Nebraska.
