On Saturday, Shane Kelly ’10 and the Malone Rugby Football Club opened their Senior Cup season with a dominant 47-3 victory over the City of Derry, righting the ship after a two-point loss to Banbridge in last week’s league opener.

Derry scored first, but three tries from Malone gave them a 15-3 edge at halftime. Malone then dominated the second half with four more tries, including one from Kelly, as the Red Sox ran their North West rivals off of Cregagh Road.

Kelly and the Red Sox return to the pitch on Saturday in another match-up with Derry.
