Penn Relays High Jump Preview

Etienne Penn Relays 2016
Etienne at last year’s Penn Relays

On Friday afternoon, Jyles Etienne will attempt to capture the high jump crown at the 123rd Penn Relays at the University of Pennsylvania’s Franklin Field. A season ago, the Indiana University-bound senior soared over 6′ 9″ to earn a runner-up finish and the distinction of being the Top American finisher, earning him a coveted gold Penn Relays watch. This year he is coming for the title. If he does he will join Andy Whitney as the only other individual Penn Relays Champion in Stony Brook history. Whitney took 1st place in the two mile in 1979.

The high jump event is slotted for 1:45pm on Friday afternoon. Here is a list of the field in order of their top published height. Heights are outdoor unless otherwise indicated.
