On Tuesday night, the boys’ basketball team attended the annual All-County dinner where four individuals from the squad were honored for their contributions this past season.
The team was recognized for their fifth straight Suffolk County Championship and the 2017 Regional Championship. All-League honors were given to Jyles Etienne, Mac Bohuny, and Brandon Providence. Bohuny was named All-Conference, a team that recognizes the best players from Leagues VII and VIII. John Eshirow was named to the League VIII All-Academic team.
The event program listed numerous end-of-season statistics. The Bears finished fourth in the entire county in team defense, holding their opponents to a paltry 50.6 points per game. Only Harborfields (41.6), Smithtown West (43.1), and Center Moriches (48.0) had stingier defenses.
