Yesterday afternoon, the boys’ badminton team topped Lindenhurst, 5-4, to improve to 6-2 on the season. They currently stand in third place in the 10-team league behind only Half Hollow Hills (7-0) and Smithtown East (6-1).

The Brook grabbed four of the five singles matches as Haban Weon (15-6, 15-3), Tiger Sun (15-2, 15-2), Jerry Liu (15-1, 15-1), and Ulysses Zhang (15-7, 15-7) dominated their competition. The doubles team of Martin Lee and David Chen won via forfeit. This was the first victory over the Bulldogs in boys’ team history as they fell to them twice in 2015 (1-8 & 3-6) and 2016 (1-8 & 4-5).

On the girls’ side, the Bears battled well and dropped several close matches in a 4-5 loss.

The team is back in action tomorrow afternoon at Commack.
