Yesterday afternoon, the boys’ tennis team opened the season with a 4-3 victory over Longwood. Despite having limited court time over the last two weeks due to the wintry weather, the Bears looked sharp in their league opener.
The Brook took three of the four singles matches as Steven Ou won first singles, 6-1, 5-7, 6-3, Thomas Lawton won a gritty third singles match, 4-6, 7-5, 6-1, and Jim Li swept fourth singles, 6-3, 6-4. A 6-3, 6-4 victory at third doubles by Ben Tom and Alex Wang provided the winning margin for the Brook.
The Bears will host Sayville this afternoon at home in a non-league match.
